Light Painting Still Life

Updated: Jul 9, 2020

Wow! I really enjoyed light painting. I had never tried it before. All I needed was a dark room, a subject, a light source that could be focused, I used a small flashlight, and some patience. I chose a few subjects, all glass. Glass and light work so nice together. I love the reflection you get especially with a black background. You will also need a tripod. A remote will help but I just used clicked the shot with my finger on the camera, no worries, all worked out well. Below are my three favorite shots. I will definitely try more of this in the future.

HOW TO:

To start out you need to set your ISO on 100. You need to dial down your speed to around 20 seconds - this is how long the shutter stays open for you to "paint" the subject with light. Your focal length should be set at around 8.

I highly suggest you try this out if you have not already, lots of fun. Till my next blog Create Beauty in all you do! Check back in for the next challenge, yet to be determined.
